About Ke Jyun Wu
Ke Jyun Wu (吳克軍, b. 1992, Taiwan) is a media artist. He grew up at the foot of a mountain, where his favorite thing was opening the window, letting the wind in and watching the evening light throw tree shadows across the wall. He also took his daydreams seriously. He would flip a plastic basin over, call it a wok and cook oyster omelets in it, using shampoo and body wash in different colors as batter. His work tries to wake up that kind of daydreaming in people who grew out of it.
He thinks of each piece as a window like the one he grew up with. Outside it is one thing he has designed for you to see, something you may have seen a thousand times or never at all, and your imagination takes it from there. In Synchronic Tides, it is the wind: you wave, and the falling leaves follow. In Beneath the Signal, it is a conversation with plants: touch the real ones in a terrarium, and digital plants on the screens respond as if answering you.
Both belong to his ongoing Digiscape series (2019–present), which spans interactive installations, fulldome films and real-time generative visuals.
His work has been shown at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris, SAT in Montréal, BLINK in Cincinnati, the Istanbul Digital Art Festival, Pingshan Art Museum in Shenzhen and C-LAB in Taipei, among others.
