An interactive installation for Arphic Technology, exhibited in Shanghai. Directed by Ting-An Ho.
The concept: a waterfall made of Chinese typography. Characters cascade down the screen like water. When visitors interact, the flow responds. Characters scatter, regroup, change speed. The installation turns text into a physical material, something with weight and movement that you can push around.
It's one of the earlier pieces in my career, and looking back, the impulse is familiar — take something people see every day (text) and make it behave like something else entirely (water). The tools were simpler then, but the instinct was already there.
